Swap the sound for something better. The footage is
good but the sound isn't: wind, a buzzing microphone, people talking
over you. Take the sound off, then add music, a voiceover or a clean
re-recording in your editing app.
Record the narration again. It's often easier to
mute the video and read the words afresh in a quiet room than to
rescue the original with noise reduction.
Make silent B-roll. Cutaway clips usually sit under
one main sound track, so muting them before they reach Premiere Pro,
DaVinci Resolve or CapCut saves a step in the timeline.
Post it where it plays silently anyway. Instagram
and LinkedIn start videos without sound, so a clip recorded in a
noisy room plays cleanly once the sound is gone.
Take out what you can't share. Screen recordings and
meeting clips often catch something confidential in the background.
Removing the sound is the quickest way to make one safe to send, with
no editing software involved. If only part of the clip matters, you
can trim video down to it first.
